The coronavirus pandemic has made the immunity-boosting kadha an important part of our daily diet. While many like to consume it first thing in the morning, some prefer having it in place of their evening tea.

But does having kadha at a certain time make it more beneficial? Or is there any right time to have kadha?

02/3​The right time to have kadha

We spoke to Dr Rakhi Nagar, BAMS, PGCPK, Ayurveda consultant and panchakarma specialist to know the right time and way to consume kadha and here is what she said.

Vata – People who have vata body type should have the kadha in the evening and consume it lukewarm. These people can also add some ghee to the kadha so that it doesn’t cause dryness their body.

Pitta – People with pitta body type should consume the kadha early morning or evening and not during the afternoon. If you have the pitta body type, you should consume your kadha at room temperature.

Kapha – People with prominent kapha dosha can have their kadha any time during the day. These people can consume the kadha slightly hot and also add honey to it.

03/3If you don’t know your Ayurvedic body type…

If you do not understand what’s your body type as per Ayurveda, you should consume kadha at room temperature.

Dr Rakhi also suggests that it’s best to talk to your doctor to know what mix of ingredients will make the best kadha for you. Mulethi and giloy are two ingredients that anyone can add in their kadha, she added.
