TCS CEO Rajesh Gopinathan quits; K Krithivasan to replace him

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said on Thursday MD and CEO Rajesh Gopinathan has resigned — a sudden departure that comes after just a year into his second five-year term at the helm of the software services major. Senior executive K Krithivasan, who spearheads TCS’s biggest business division of banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), has been named CEO-designate, effective Thursday. He will take charge as MD and CEO on September 16, subject to shareholders’ approval.
