Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook, will undertake layoffs across its teams to work towards a goal of greater efficiency, according to a memo seen by Bloomberg. The layoffs, set to begin on Wednesday, will impact Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Reality Labs, the firm’s virtual reality unit. The move will be part of a cost-cutting initiative that will eventually eliminate 10,000 positions within the company.
