Venezuela’s main refining complex running at 10% of capacity after 2 CDUs shut

Venezuela’s Paraguana Refining Center, the country’s largest refining complex, is operating at only 10% of its capacity due to a fire and lack of feedstock. The shutdown is impacting the country’s refining operations at a time when gasoline and diesel shortages are causing long queues at fuel stations. The complex has been operating at a fraction of its capacity for the past decade due to maintenance delays and lack of repairs. Only one distillation unit remains operational at the neighboring Amuay refinery.
