The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has warned airport operators against imposing extra charges on charter flights, stating that it violates the AERA Act. The warning comes after the Adani group raised charges for charter flights at Ahmedabad Airport during the ICC World Cup. The regulator has threatened “stringent punitive action” against operators who do not comply with the rules. The charges imposed by Ahmedabad airport were in addition to the landing and parking charges.
