India’s industrial output growth slowed in September, with the manufacturing sector, consumer durables, and non-durables remaining sluggish. The index of industrial production (IIP) rose 5.8% in September, slower than the previous month’s 10.3%. The manufacturing sector grew 4.5% compared to a 2% expansion in the previous year. The capital goods sector slowed to 7.4% growth in September compared to 11.4% growth in the previous year. The consumer durables sector grew 1%, while the consumer non-durables rose 2.7%.
