Vikrant Massey reveals he shot nearly 15 hours a day for White; recalls spending time with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar – The Headlines

National Award-winning actor Vikrant Massey recently spoke about his preparation for White, sharing insights into the time he spent with spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, whom he portrays in the film. Appearing at a public event, the actor described the experience as personally transformative and professionally demanding.

Reflecting on his time with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Massey said the moments he spent with the spiritual leader left a lasting impact on him. “Those moments were special,” he said, adding that the experience helped him reconnect with himself during the process of preparing for the role.

Elaborating further, Massey revealed that producer Mahaveer Jain facilitated his meetings with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar during the making of White. Speaking about the effect it had on him, the actor said, “I got closer to myself while spending time at his ashram and with him. Mahaveer Jain ji the producer of White took me to meet him. I got the chance to get close to him and meet him through this project and I’m so glad.”

Massey also acknowledged the personal changes the experience brought into his life, saying, “Unki wajah se main apni zindagi mein thoda thehrav la paaya hoon and that has had an impact on me personally.” At the same time, he admitted that portraying Sri Sri Ravi Shankar came with its own challenges. “It was very challenging to play him because he is a very unique personality. He is actually someone who has no blueprint. He is only one in himself. So, a lot of preparation has to be done,” he said.

When asked about Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s reaction to his portrayal, Massey shared that the spiritual leader will be the first to watch the complete film. “The first person to watch the movie will be him. I’m nervous thinking what he will say about the film,” the actor admitted. He added that he had shown a few clips to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, noting, “I have shown him some clippings and he said nothing… So it’s all good.”

Massey also spoke about the physical demands of the role, particularly the transformation involved. “There’s a lot of prosthetics involved in getting the look right. I had to spend over 5–5.30 hours for the makeup and hair and we shot for over 10 hours on top of that,” he said, before concluding, “I pray the hard work pays off.”

As anticipation builds around White, Massey’s comments offer a glimpse into the preparation and personal reflection involved in portraying a spiritual figure, underlining the actor’s focus on authenticity and immersion in his craft.
