02/8What was your turning point?

The main motivation for me to lose weight was my increasing health problems. I had a severe case of sleep apnea, for which I paid a visit to the doctor. My doctor told me that the only way to correct it would be to lose weight, and if I would gain any more weight, it could turn lethal. I wanted a stress-free and complication-free life, hence, weight loss happened. I am now happier and healthier than ever.

03/8Diet followed

My breakfast: I start my day with a cup of black coffee and any type of salad (fruits/ veggies/ some form of protein)

My lunch: A bowl of fruits is enough for me.

My dinner: I try to have plant-based proteins, with some type of sauteed greens and brown/black rice. Sometimes, it can be homemade tacos.

Pre-workout meal: A trail mix of nuts with some salt.

Post- workout meal: Fresh cold-pressed juice.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Plain yoghurt with berries, strawberries and honey make for excellent snack worthy desserts.

04/8Workout and fitness secrets

I do not go to the gym. I aim at walking for 20-25,000 steps a day and do pushups, crunches, planks at home only. I try to be as regular as I can and do not miss workouts.

Fitness secrets I unveiled:

Weight loss is majorly all about you eat. I would say the biggest difference comes from your diet, and that’s 90% of your regime. Believe me, even the simplest swaps in your diet can make so much of a difference in your health.

05/8How do I stay motivated?

I keep a collection of my photos, before and after transformation. That’s enough for me to motivate me to get back on my goal and get fitter for better. There’s no going back now.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I have established a rule of weighing myself pretty regularly, and have a goal weight in mind. So every time I am off the goal, by even a couple of kilograms, I devise corrections and tweaks to sweat it out in the coming days. Small goals definitely go a long way.

06/8What’s the most difficult part about being overweight?

Everything was difficult! Emotionally, physically it was damn tiring. The way you walk changes, you experience shortness of breath, you don’t want to get clicked at all and after all, you end up becoming the centre of all jokes. It felt like people only wanted to talk about how fat I am!

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? Ten years down the line, I want to be in the best shape possible, mentally and physically so I am constantly working towards achieving that goal.

07/8What are the lifestyle changes you made?

I stopped ordering food from outside. It’s no less than a toxic addiction! Now I cook and prep my meals on my own.

I also started reading up information on nutritional guidelines, calories (good and bad) and checking on every morsel of food that went into my mind. A good weight loss plan is all about maths, some awareness and your ability to execute that.

What was the lowest point for you?

Because of the big problem, I was suffering from, sleep apnea, I ended up falling asleep in the middle of a busy highway. While nobody got hurt, it made me realize my health was in such a bad state.
