Godrej Agrovet Limited (GAVL) has obtained the rights to a pest control molecule from Nissan Chemical Corporation, which will initially be used on chilli crops in India. The product, called Rashinban, has been approved for use on chilli and targets three pests during the flowering stage. GAVL aims to capture a 10% share of the estimated INR 1,200-1,500 crore market for Rashinban over the next three to four years. Currently, 80% of chilli crops in India are damaged by pests in the initial stages.
