IndiGo CEO, Pieter Elbers, has described India as an incredible and highly competitive aviation market, stating that the airline is seeking to expand and become more global. IndiGo plans to build its own international network, introduce new overseas routes, and enhance partnerships with other carriers. The airline is also taking steps to address issues with Pratt & Whitney engines that have resulted in grounded aircraft. IndiGo currently operates nearly 1,900 daily flights with over 320 planes and holds a domestic market share of over 63%.
