Sebi looks to cut corporate bonds’ face value to boost retail participation

SEBI announced measures on Tuesday aimed at boosting retail investor participation in the corporate bond market. One significant decision involves reducing the face value of such debt securities from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10,000. Additionally, the SEBI board decided to introduce a framework for unit-based employee benefits (UBEB) pertaining to REITs (real estate investment trusts) and InvITs (infrastructure investment trusts).
