Equity indices surged on Monday with the benchmark BSE sensex gaining over 750 points led by gains in banking, IT and metal stocks. The 30-share BSE index 760 points or 1.41% to close at 54,521. While, the broader NSE Nifty settled 229 points or 1.43% higher at 16,278.
