Sensex slides 1,000 points from interim high, closes above 72,000

Following the interim Budget, the Sensex experienced significant volatility before ultimately closing 0.6% higher, propelled by heavyweight stocks such as Reliance Industries, Infosys, and TCS. On Friday, buoyed by overnight advances in the US markets and early gains in Asian markets, the Sensex began trading higher. By mid-session, it surged over 1,400 points or 2%, surpassing the 73,000 mark.
