Bharti Airtel CEO, Gopal Vittal, stated that telecom tariffs in India are currently low and need to be increased to ensure the viability of the industry. He emphasized that Airtel is focused on delivering a good experience for its 5G customers rather than being the fastest in rollout. Vittal also mentioned that 5G usage is currently high because it is free, but the real usage will be studied when it is not free. Bharti Airtel reported a 37.5% YoY fall in net profit for the September quarter.
