Luke Woodhouse fired the first PDC Home Tour nine-darter on his way to topping Group Two and knocking out world No 3 Gerwyn Price on Saturday night.
The world No 57 was in brilliant form throughout the second night of action, the high point a brilliant nine-dart leg to take a 4-0 lead against the Iceman in the fourth match of the night.
Woodhouse completed a 5-0 rout of Price, averaging 114 in the process, before staying on to play Rowby-John Rodriguez, where he needed just a couple of legs to ensure he could not be surpassed even in defeat.
As it was, Woodhouse, who knocked Michael Smith out of the World Championship at Alexandra Palace in December, ran out a 5-2 winner to seal a perfect three wins from three matches.
It means for the second night in succession a surprise winner tops the group, Woodhouse joining world No 60 Jamie Lewis, who knocked out Peter Wright on Friday, in making the second phase.
Group Two Table
Pts | Legs =/- | |

(2) Gerwyn Price | 4 | +1 |
(3) Ted Evetts | 2 | -4 |

Following Gary Anderson and Daryl Gurney’s wifi issues, Saturday night was not without its problems as Price had to ban his daughter from YouTube and switch his board to the kitchen for a stronger connection.
While in Vienna, Rodriguez needed permission from his neighbours to play beyond 8pm – and the effort was worthwhile as another entertaining evening’s action got underway with Price in fine form.
The Welshman beat his Austrian opponent 5-2, firing a 97 average and a brilliant 125 finish on his way to a 5-2 win, before Woodhouse beat Ted Evetts by the same scoreline for his first win of the evening.

Group Two | Luke Woodhouse |
Evetts, who was in the spotlight at the World Championship after losing to Fallon Sherrock on her history-making night, grabbed his first win of the night by sinking Rodriguez before Woodhouse and Price locked horns for the right to take control of the group.
It was one-way traffic throughout as Woodhouse broke the Welshman twice in the first three legs before his nine-dart heroics, perfection achieved with a superb 147 finish and the match sealed in the following leg with a classy 127 check-out.
Woodhouse completed his night’s work by condemning Rodriguez to a third defeat, before Price did grab a second win by sinking Evett, a brilliant 130 finish rounding off the evening but no one could steal Woodhouse’s thunder.
